Soundtrack of My Life Essay

Soundtrack of My Life Essay

Everywhere you go, you can find some form of music present; whether it be Rock ‘N’ Roll, or a traditional folk song, music

is everywhere, and is a major part of our everyday lives. Music is a peaceful release, and a major pastime and enjoyment. Some

people work to music, while others simply enjoy relaxing to their favorite song. The songs present within my Soundtrack of My

Life project are not only some of my favorite songs to listen to, but they also have meaning in regards to my personal life, and

each tells a short story about one small aspect from the entire piece, all coming together to make the story whole.

From songs like “I Don’t want to Miss A Thing,” to “Stairway to Heaven,” all of these songs have personal meaning(s), and

tell a story. At first, thinking about what kind of story that was to be said and written was a challenge, but it eventually

became clear, and that is where it all started. From there it was now picking the specific order of the songs, some falling into

random slots, while others in more deliberate spaces. Avenged Sevenfold ‘s song “Almost Easy” was the first song choice

because of the ironic title, where as this project was a fair amount fun and work at the same time. But, “Never Too Late” by

Three Days Grace was placed at the end because it is a very important life lesson for everyone to heed; “It’s not too late; it’s

never too late.”

Throughout our lives, we go through stages; and within these stages, people need a release or pastime to get through the

rough spots. Well, for most people, along with other things, that release is music; it gives the listener complete freedom to

express oneself in whatever manner one wants, with whatever type of music one prefers. Each song created has a pre-

determined meaning, but it is not limited to just that one meaning; it could mean something else to each and every individual.

“A tout le monde; A tout mes amis; Je vous aime; Je drois partir.”
